What is a black belt?
A person who shows a certain level of competency and knowledge of the curriculum of their martial arts school. A black belt is a reflection of the characteristics, qualities, and abilities typified by their martial art style.
What does it mean to be for black lives?
Just like martial arts, the practice of anti-racisim requires dedication to life-long learning. This site is a call to action for all martial artists to use their wonderful skill to identify, examine, and reshape our connection to race and supremacy within ourselves and our dojos.

We also plan to facilitate discussions within the broader martial arts community, and host virtual events to share with each other and support each other in this journey.
